Chocolate has become one of the most popular food types and flavors in the world, and a vast number of foodstuffs involving chocolate have been created. Gifts of chocolate molded into different shapes have become traditional on certain holidays. Chocolate is also used in cold and hot beverages such as chocolate milk and hot chocolate.
The history of chocolate starts from 1300 where the ancient mayans adored this marvelous product, but it was less known to people. But in 1502, Christopher Columbus encountered a trading boat which was carrying only Cocoa beans, his discoveries have always been astonishing as it is. But only 1521 when the place Mexico was conquered by the Europeans, the first contact with chocolate happened to the Europe. In 1657, the chocolate has been only in the luxury list, that means only the royal court and officials could have them. 1732, the cocoa tree got an official Latin botanical name, which means literally cocoa food of the gods. In 1765, United States of America introduced its first mill in Dorchester. In 1798, England, they employed a steam engine to grind cocoa beans which led to the first large scale manufacture of chocolates. In 1847 the first chocolate bar was introduced. 1894 started the milk chocolate production. Made the chocolate legacy grow wild and mad, the first box of Belgian Praline box came out in 1912.
